Choosing the Perfect Table Card Holders

Monday, November 30th, 2009

A wedding is not necessarily a ceremony but an experience. Part of the wedding experience includes group gatherings both before and after the service. In order to set up an organized and terrific experience at wedding rehearsal dinners and receptions, contemplate the following features of table card holders as an enjoyable yet  convenient way to keep your event running smoothly.

  • Contents. Place card holders are one of the most practical wedding decorations available. They are frequently used to direct friends and family to their appropriate tables at a reception or some other wedding-specific gathering. They often contain one or more of the following features in their design:
    • Guest names.
Place cards are usually required to show guests to their chairs without the need for an usher. No matter the size or nature of construction, guests’ names should be evidently displayed for both visibility and efficiency.
    • Table numbers.
If there are no specific seating assignments, it would be best to limit the contents of your place card holders to table numbers. Be sure that the design you choose will help rather than impede whatever job you assign to your card holders.
    • Photos.
Customize each place card holder with carefully selected photographs of those in attendance. Pictures picked for each holder could be of the following:
      • Guests.
Create an enjoyable way for your guests to find each of their tables with a unique place card holder displaying photos  of each of your guests.
      • Bride and groom.
Pick out one of your favorite photos of the newlyweds and give your guests their first topic of conversation upon arrival.
    • Theme. A theme is not a requirement for an appropriately designed wedding ceremony and reception party. However, themed décor can help bring uniqueness to an otherwise predictable event. Use place card holders in the ways below to add elegance to your post-nuptial celebrations:
      • Harmonize.
You can complete your theme with place card holders of coordinating colors and styles. For example, for a wedding reception with a cowboy theme, try using leather cowboy boots as holders for place cards.
      • Emphasize.
Leave your guests with a lasting impression by using themed place card holders that can double as cheap favors. Be attentive to select table favors that are prominently displayed rather than blending in, your guests will be talking about your clever wedding décor for years to come.
      • Magnetize.
Pull in your family and friends’ attention with themed place card holders. Use color and design to gain the eyes of your guests and lead them to their reception seats.
    • Function. When selecting wedding decorations, make sure that you know their function. Apply these suggestions for utilizing place card holders as useful trimmings for your reception party or other wedding occasions:
      • Mood.
Set the tone for your wedding reception with specially picked table card holders. Capture the moment with accents that add a novel touch.
      • Budget.
The price does not have to be a limitation when you’re choosing appropriate wedding décor. Place card holders can be both simple and tasteful if mindfully selected to fulfill their function as visual directions and beautiful highlights.
      • Socialization.
Plan moments for mingling by making the most of your place card holders. Deliberately pair family and friends through matching clothing colours or appearances. Give your family and friends opportunities to tell stories about the bride and groom from personal vantage points.

All weddings are special; consequently, your wedding decorations should also have a unique style. Take advantage of the helpfulness of place card holders to make your wedding reception a fabulous event for each of your guests while keeping the bride and groom as the center of the reception.

Photography and the right way to capture moments

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Nowadays, people love to use video cameras. Those areas where a camera dominated once before video camera has now taken over.  But that is not to say photography is dead.On the contrary, photography is still an very popular hobby for most people.Photgraphy will not die because it is an art to capture moments and put it into still photos.  You can really capture moments with great photographs. So here are some tips on capturing moments with your camera.

First thing to learn is to have great anticipation.  For example if you are taking candid shots of people anticipation is key. That has been one of the secrets of taking great photographs as a San Diego wedding photographer.  Because by being able to anticipate you can be proactive rather than reactive.  In other words, instead of reacting to what is happening you are actively involved.Because you might miss taking those shots if you are just reacting. If you know how to anticipate then you can take great shots.

Another thing you want to do is positioning. What I mean by that is if you are taking pictures of big scenes you need to be in a good position.  As a San Diego photographer you have to always be in a good position. Because if you are not you can miss some great shots.People can get in the way of your shots.  Or you can have objects get in your way. By being perfectly in position you can be ready for those great moments you know will happen.

Last tip would be to know the flow of events.  This has been key in my event photography San Diego business.  Because knowing when the events would happen you can get ready to take photos.  Because when you don’t know what is going on you can miss great photographs so easily.

So those are a couple of tips to taking better photos. If you just notice these tips are not technical tips involving your camera. They are more involved in the artistic side of taking photos.
